FAQ

1. Can I put pans in the dishwasher?
Absolutely yes; our products are suitable for washing in the dishwasher. However, to best preserve the quality of the non-stick over time, we advise you to opt for a delicate and easy hand wash. This practice will help extend the life of the product and ensure optimal performance over time.

2. Can I use OLYMPIA pans on an induction hob?
Certainly, OLYMPIA cookware is designed to work on a variety of hobs, including gas, electric, glass ceramic, induction and oven. However, please note that not all pans are suitable for use on induction hobs. We have dedicated lines specifically for induction. We recommend that you read product descriptions carefully for clear indications of induction compatibility.

3. Can I use metal utensils in OLYMPIA cookware?
Of course, it is possible to use metal utensils inside OLYMPIA pans. However, to avoid scratching the coating, which is very resistant, we recommend using OLYMPIA nylon kitchen utensils, such as the Diamant model, or any wooden utensils. This practice helps to maintain the excellent condition of the pans over time.

4. Is non-stick safe?
Absolutely yes, we want to reassure you that the non-stick coating of our pans is completely safe and complies with the strict European standards that regulate materials intended for contact with food. This coating is supplied by the reputable company PPG Industries, a world leader in the production of coatings. It is important to note that our coating is completely free from PFOA (perfluorooctanoic acid), a substance which, at high temperatures, could be leached from other products and potentially pose a health risk if ingested in significant quantities. Keep in mind that all OLYMPIA pans are certified as PFOA FREE, which means they are PFOA-free and guarantee your safety. Our coatings do not contain carcinogenic substances. Remember to pay attention and be wary of products that do not clearly indicate that they are PFOA FREE.

5. What materials are used to make OLYMPIA cookware?
OLYMPIA saucepans are mainly made of food-grade aluminium, an alloy specifically designed for the production of utensils in contact with food, such as saucepans. This aluminum alloy is selected in accordance with strict European regulations which set limits for the chemicals present. It is important to underline that we only use aluminum deriving from recycled sources, thus contributing to a sustainable production process that respects both health and the environment. Furthermore, the choice to use recyclable aluminum further supports our mission of environmentally responsible production.

6. Do the handles of OLYMPIA pans get hot?
Yes, in case the handles are made as integral parts of aluminum (for example for pans and saucepans), they can get very hot. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you use pot holders or kitchen gloves to handle them safely. You can also consider purchasing OLYMPIA silicone covers for additional comfort. Aluminum handles can withstand high temperatures, including oven use. For items with Bakelite handles (such as frying pans), it is important to note that the material is heat resistant and does not significantly transfer heat. In addition, OLYMPIA lid knobs are designed not to overheat, ensuring a secure grip.

7. What is the reason why the external bottom of OLYMPIA cookware releases a black powder?
This phenomenon is caused by the use of the dishwasher. The cleaning tablets used in dishwashers are increasingly powerful and can slightly corrode uncoated parts, such as the bottom outside. This corrosion can lead to the release of a light black powder. However, it is important to point out that this black powder does not affect the quality of the product at all and is easily removable. If you wish to avoid this situation, we advise you to wash OLYMPIA pans by hand instead of using the dishwasher, in order to preserve their external conditions and prevent the release of this dust.
